Patrick Grady

Birth

Patrick Grady was born in 1816 in Tipperary.1,2 He witnessed the baptism of James Grady on 3 January 1841 in Campbells River, NSW, Australia.3 Patrick Grady witnessed the baptism of Mary-Ann Kessey on 11 September 1842.4

Residence information

On on 12 November 1828, James, Mary, Elenor, and Judith arrived at aboard. they was at age ~43 years old. Margaret and her family arrived in Sydney aboard the "City of Edinburgh".2 Patrick Grady and Catherine McQuirk lived in Queensland in 1882.2

Involvement in crime

Patrick Grady was arrested for robbing a dray while being armed on 23 September 1845. They were all convicted of larceny. Patrick Grady and his brother-in-law (Thomas McQuirk) were sentenced to two years with hard labour. His father-in-law (Daniel McQuirk) was sentenced to transportation to Van Diemen's Land for seven years. Daniel's sentence was later increased as a result of further offences committed while in custody. Some of his time was served at Port Arthur.2

Death

Patrick Grady died in 1892 at age ~76.6,2
