William Entwistle died on 7 April 1701 in Edgworth.2 He was buried on 8 April 1701 at St Peter's Church in Bolton. The burial register notes that he was buried "intra ecclo", meaning inside the church. This was a rare privilege and may indicate that he was a church warden or vestryman.2,3
