Daniel McQuirk
Involvement in crime
Daniel McQuirk was arrested for robbing a dray while being armed on 23 September 1845. They were all convicted of larceny. Patrick Grady and his brother-in-law (Thomas McQuirk) were sentenced to two years with hard labour. His father-in-law (Daniel McQuirk) was sentenced to transportation to Van Diemen's Land for seven years. Daniel's sentence was later increased as a result of further offences committed while in custody. Some of his time was served at Port Arthur.
