  • On 9 October 1820 James Blackman was a rail splitter in Bathurst.1
  • At in Bathurst, New South Wales, Australia, employed. He and two others were keeping stock for James Blackman Junior who had been granted permission to take temporary occupation of 600 acres. This grazing run was "in a circle around your stock yard to be erected on the North East side of Winbournedale Creek, 14 miles North of Bathurst and 4 miles from Mr Terry's present stock station" which was at Millah Murrah. Blackman's land was therefore on the northern side of Winburndale creek near the junction of the creek and Turondale Road.2
  • At in Cullen Bullen employed. Blackman sought a new Ticket of Occupation for a new depastruage site nine miles further North [near Capertee]. This was granted by a letter from the Colonial Secretary dated 17 August 1824.3,4
