Death

Henry Entwistle died from starvation on 17 December 1816 at age 42 in Edgworth. His family had been starving for some days but he worked all night to finish his weaving, despite having nothing to eat. He then walked to Blackburn (9 miles) to sell his work and then walked back. When he got to within 5 miles from home he could go no further. His companion went on without him but when his family returned they found him dead on the side of the road. He left a large family.1,5,2 He was buried on 18 December 1816 at St Ann's Church in Turton.1,2
