Birth
Henry Sampson ("Sampson") Johnson was born on 2 March 1878 at Mount Oxley in Bourke.1,2 He was baptized on 27 October 1879 at St Stephen's Church of England at Bourke in Bourke, New South Wales, Australian Colonies. In one ceremony on 27 October 1879, Henry Sampson Johnson, his sister Emily Jane Johnson and their first cousin Eliza Emily Tobin Maxwell were all baptised.2
