Denis Shea was born in County Kerry, Ireland in about 1797 and died from injuries received when his dray overturned at Limekilns near Bathurst NSW on 27 March 1858. His wife Mary Horgan was born at Glenbeigh, County Kerry in about 1795 and died at Clear Creek near Bathurst NSW in August 1855. They had been married at Glenbeigh, County Kerry in about 1818. He is buried in an unmarked grave within Bathurst Cemetery at Bathurst and she is probably also buried there.
